Training Program & Team Structure
In keeping with our philosophy of providing a well-rounded, quality, competitive swimming program for youngsters of all ages and abilities, the NG GATOR AQUATICS offers 5 levels of professional technique instruction and training.

MIGHTY MITES

This is our group for first year competitive swimmers. Pre- requisites are, swimmers must swim a full length of freestyle and backstroke without stopping. Motor skills are developed as swimmers learn to work within a group and follow directions. Stroke fundamentals, starts, turns, streamlining, and a love for the sport are emphasized. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 2 to 3 workouts per week. This group is for ages 5 - 8.

AGE GROUP 1

This group refines and builds upon fundamentals introduced in Mighty Mites. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 3 to 4 workouts per week. This is for the 7- 10 age group. This group trains to prepare to move up to Age group 2.

JUNIORS

Juniors is for the 11 and up age level at the first year of competitive swimming. This group works on all 4 stroke fundamentals, starts, turns and interval training are introduced. This group also trains to prepare to move up to Age group 2. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 3 workouts a week.

AGE GROUP 2

The emphasis of this group is still on stroke mechanics, with the addition of interval training and more aerobic development.  At this time, swimmers are introduced to a training environment.  Swimmers are encouraged to attend 4 to 5 workouts per week.

SENIOR

This is our elite training group, which prepares swimmers for Sectional, National, and International level competitions.  At this time, strength training is increased, as well as training volume and intensity. Swimmers are expected to attend all workouts at this level, as practices are designed specifically for individual race and stroke needs.
